The Opportunity

We are looking for an organized and driven Accountant to join our growing team. The full-time Accountant position will work closely with our Controller and operations personnel and handle day-to-day bookkeeping. We are an energetic company and are looking for a passionate individual to join our Company. We are expanding quickly both organically and through acquisitions. Reporting to the Controller, you will be directly responsible for the recording of all financial transactions, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for all companies within the Group.

General Responsibilities

  • Process financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare and make daily and monthly standard and adjusting entries
  • Review bank activity and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Record inter-company payables and receivable transactions
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly/annual financial reports and analysis
  • Process vendor invoices for payments
  • Process payroll and employee benefits
  • Assist management with ad hoc audit requests, reports, and process documentation.
  • Responsible for records management activities

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 2+ years of full cycle bookkeeping experience
  • CPA designation/in progress
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero; knowledge of other systems are an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Self-starter, professional, self-confident and organized
  • Attention to detail and able to multitask
  • Team player, able to work independently and comfortable working remotely
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial spirited, fast-paced, and changing work environment.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. The full-time Senior Accountant position will work closely with our Controller and will be responsible for month-end GL closing, prepare stand alone and consolidated financial statements, assist with budgeting and monitoring of KPIs. We are an energetic company and are looking for a passionate individual to join our Company. We are expanding quickly both organically and through acquisitions. This is a hybrid remote work opportunity that offers competitive benefits along with room for growth.

General Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly close and consolidation process including preparing journal entries and ensuring the consolidated financial statements are properly prepared
  • Prepare quarterly and year end financial statements along with corresponding notes
  • Perform technical accounting research, prepare position papers for new and complex transactions
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis including investigating discrepancies and managing any issues.
  • Perform P&L analysis comparing results to budget and analyzing cost fluctuations from month to month and year to year.
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies/irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports
  • Support the year end audit process and deliverables
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements including documentation of controls
  • Process financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Process vendor invoices for payments
  • Process payroll and employee benefits
  • Support due diligence and M&A activities
  • Participate in system implementation and accounting integration through data migration and testing and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of GL data.
  • Assist management with ad hoc audit requests, reports, and process documentation.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Designated accounting professional (CPA,CA preferred) with financial reporting experience.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience or in a similar role
  • Public accounting firm experience will be considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of IFRS
  • Experience in the health and technology industry preferred
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero; knowledge of other systems are an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Self-starter, professional, self-confident and organized
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Team player, able to work independently and comfortable working remotely
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial spirited, fast-paced, and changing work environment.
